The holidays have begun

Started writing this yesterday on my phone using the blogger app from the Google Play store.  It actually let me compose the post, apparently save it, and even attach a photo.  All looked good.  So I tapped "publish" whereupon it went into a crash-loop that was, as far as I was willing to debug it, irrevocable.  So here we go again, on a real computer this time.  I guess I'm not ready for living in the modern world with all its "app stores" and Gs ranging from 2 to, I hear, 5 and beyond now.

Anyway, not very much to say, just that we made it back to the farm, the drive was as good as we could ever expect and the boys were, as always, the best little travelers imaginable.  And now that we're here, we start the tradition of watching hours of movies, running circuits in Mamoo's house, playing with cousins when they're around and playing with wooden trains in the sun-room when they're not.  It's pretty great here at the farm.  It's good to be here.

I Miss Monster Sookie

What's a Monster Sookie ?  There's probably two parts to that question. The first being, what's a sookie ?  That's our name for pacifiers or soothers or whathaveyou.  I have no idea where the name came from, but I'm pretty sure I gave it too them when James was in the special care unit just after he was born and it was probably based on the sound he was making with the one the nurses had given him while he was there. So what's a Monster sookie?  That picture over there.  Brenda and Steve bought one for James well before he was old enough to actually use it (it only comes in one size, which is, I think, intended for six-month-olds).  We didn't really get a lot of use out of it until just last year when I was Han Solo for Halloween and James got to be my Li'l Chewbacca co-pilot. Robocallers

We don't get a lot of robocalls anymore thanks to the fact that we're no longer on a POTS line anymore and the blocklist service included in our VoiP package.  One of the few that still show up are "The Duct Cleaning Service".  I assume that's their "doing business as" name since that's how they always identify themselves when they call (from a local number, I may add).  But we don't talk to them.  We don't interact at all except to note the number and ban it from all future incoming attempts. I mention this because I have no  idea how tonight's bit of foolishness came about.
