Purr, purr, purr

James used to make all kinds of hilarious sounds when he was an infant.  My favourite was what I called duck-talk.  A kind of hacky kwaa-kwaa sound I used to do myself as a kid when trying to emulate the voice of Donald Duck from the Disney cartoons.

Daniel, though, started entirely on his own doing something we call purring.  He does it much less often now than he used to, but today I managed to capture some of it on video.

I Miss Monster Sookie

What's a Monster Sookie ?  There's probably two parts to that question. The first being, what's a sookie ?  That's our name for pacifiers or soothers or whathaveyou.  I have no idea where the name came from, but I'm pretty sure I gave it too them when James was in the special care unit just after he was born and it was probably based on the sound he was making with the one the nurses had given him while he was there. So what's a Monster sookie?  That picture over there.  Brenda and Steve bought one for James well before he was old enough to actually use it (it only comes in one size, which is, I think, intended for six-month-olds).  We didn't really get a lot of use out of it until just last year when I was Han Solo for Halloween and James got to be my Li'l Chewbacca co-pilot. Robocallers

We don't get a lot of robocalls anymore thanks to the fact that we're no longer on a POTS line anymore and the blocklist service included in our VoiP package.  One of the few that still show up are "The Duct Cleaning Service".  I assume that's their "doing business as" name since that's how they always identify themselves when they call (from a local number, I may add).  But we don't talk to them.  We don't interact at all except to note the number and ban it from all future incoming attempts. I mention this because I have no  idea how tonight's bit of foolishness came about.
